Strand Arcade
The only remaining arcade of its kind in Sydney, The Strand Arcade is a Victorian-style Arcade joining George Street and Pitt Street. It was designed by John B. Spencer, assisted by Charles E. Fairfax; and built from 1890 to 1892 by Bignell and Clark (1891) and extensively re-built after a fire in the 1970s. The facade modeled is the George street elevation.
The sculpture is made from eco-friendly resin-plaster with acrylic detail pieces. All materials are sourced locally, made 100% in Sydney. Each model is framed using sustainably sourced Birch plywood.
Size: 52x32x8cm frame
Total Weight: Approximately 6kg
Each model is hand-cast with its own small deviations in colour and texture.
