Mid-century fibro home
The Mid-century fibro home. The postwar baby-boom and immigration influx meant needing to house many families in an era of scarce building supplies. The fibro house was a very simple building clad in fibre-cement sheet, often with variations on the same design, in a material that allowed curved shapes, but often was erected with speed rather than design in mind.
The sculpture is made from eco-friendly resin-plaster with acrylic detail pieces. All materials are sourced locally, made 100% in Sydney. Each model is framed using sustainably sourced Birch plywood.
Size: 32x22x8cm frame
Each model is hand-cast with its own small deviations in colour and texture.
